Maserati to star at the Geneva Motorshow
Maserati is my dream car…

Geneva
Maserati is eagerly anticipated at the Swiss event, one of the biggest on the European motoring calendar.
Last year’s show witnessed the unveiling of the GranTurismo in a world premiere and this show will be the 78th running of the event.
On show will be the models that have gained international critical acclaim. This reputation has been built on Maserati’s ability to produce sporty vehicles which have been constructed with exceptional attention to detail: the Modenese company’s flagship model, the Quattroporte, was designed by Pininfarina.
After two days dedicated to the press, the Maserati stand will be open to everyone. The motorshow will be an unmissable event for all motoring enthusiasts.
OCC introduces two new production bikes, including first bagger
Despite the fact that the Orange County Choppers television show has been on for years now and the shop’s top mechanic, Vinnie, has left for good, the public still loves the Teutels. No matter what you may think of their theme bikes, there’s no denyiny that an OCC bike draws plenty of attention. Those who are willing to pay for that attention can buy one of their production machines full of OCC logos and custom touches, and they have recently added two new models to their line, a bagger and a bike known as “Sweet Amber”. Today we’ll take a peak at the as-yet-unnamed bagger, which looks pretty sinister above in all black. We like the usability that a custom bagger offers without sacrificing the look of a custom bike. Corbin Fleetliner bags provide 40 liters of storage and hide the exhaust pipes, leaving just the aft openings visible. The rear tire is a reasonable 240 mm, which, along with the livable rake and trail measurements, should provide a decent handling machine.
What is most exciting about this bike is the powerplant, which is the first application of S&S’s X-Wedge engine in a rubber mount, meaning that this should be a smooth runner. Other user-friendly touches are included in the fairing, with a low smoked windshield and a jack with speakers for your iPod. Here’s the bad news: they plan on selling the machine for around $50 grand. That’s quite a chunk of change, but might be worth it considering that a stock Harley bagger is often more than half that amount. We have gathered some photos courtesy of Motorcycle USA and included them below, so be sure to take a look.
Fisker provides sneak peak of new Karma coupe
Of all the auto shows and random events we attend throughout the year, it never dawned on us to book a ticket to San Francisco to scope out the J.D. Power Roundtable meeting. Too bad considering that Henrik Fisker showed off a “top secret” photo of the bespoke automaker’s next project.
According to Automotive News, Fisker flashed a picture of the concept on stage and said that it would use the same lithium-ion plug-in hybrid drivetrain as the Karma sedan. Fisker went on to say that the four-seater convertible would go on sale around the same time as the Karma sedan, sometime in late 2009. A spokesman said that it’s expected to be unveiled sometime this fall.
Unfortunately, Fisker wouldn’t provide us with an image of the 2+2 cabrio, but if you happen to have a subscription to Automotive News, you can see a shot of the two-door convertible with plenty of styling cues pulled from the Karma, including the flared fenders, elongated hood and patented Fisker haunches.

Fiat 500 Pepita sets gold standard for small cars
Every year in Rome is held a luxury show called the Scrigno, Tesori d’Italia, which roughly translates to mean the Italian Treasure Chest. Last year we showed you a Maserati Quattroporte by Studio M that was dipped in gold. To be more specific, it’s paint was mixed 24k gold powder. The 2008 event concluded today and we wanted to show you what Studio M had on display this year. Called the Fiat 500 Pepita, it is Italy’s iconic small car painted with the same 24k gold micro-powder paint as last year’s Maserati. Studio M went a bit further this time by modifying the 500 Pepita even more. The side walls of the tires are also brushed with gold and frame a set of aftermarket wheels from OZ; the dash has been covered with Australian mother of pearl inlay; the gear shift, hand brake and pedals are lined with Swarovski crystals and the designer floor mats are made out of cashmere. The car you see in the gallery below costs about 60,000 euro, but Studio M is more than happy to customize one for you by upholstering the interior with the skin of crocodile, snake, shark, rayfish or lizard, as well as dumping the Swarovski crystal for one of 48 other precious stones. Sure, it’s a bit ironic that a small economy car has been made to epitomize the luxurious tastes of wealthy Italians, but we’ve heard time and again that Europeans are willing to pay more for small cars over there.

Chicago 2008: Lexus ES 350 Pebble Beach Edition
If you saw our preview of the Scion tC Release 4.0 and want more, you’re in luck ’cause we’ve spotted it here in Chicago. We already knew pretty much all there was to know about the machine, including the DAMD body kit and Galactic Gray Mica paint. As is often the case, though, live photos seem to show more detail than official pics from the manufacturer, so be sure to check out our live photos in the gallery below. If you like what you see, perhaps you should act fast, only 2,300 of the 4.0s are going to be built. We’re sure that Scion will sell all of them, but we think the tC is in need of a bit more freshening than this version 4.0 offers.
